Bhoomika Narasimhan is a Safety Software Architect at General Motors, specializing in high-voltage battery and charging safety for electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles.

Her work sits at the intersection of high-voltage architectures, software-defined vehicle (SDV) architectures, and automotive functional safety standards, where she architects safety-critical software design and implementation and leads cross-functional teams in translating requirements into robust, production-ready solutions. Bhoomika’s current focus includes defining end-to-end safety concepts for traction battery systems, covering fault detection, diagnostics, charging and thermal interactions, and safe-state strategies.

Before joining GM, Bhoomika worked in functional safety and engine controls at a Tier I supplier. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from India and a Master’s degree in Automotive Engineering from Clemson University.
