Celebrating Excellence in Automotive Interiors & User Experience

For more than a decade, WardsAuto has recognized the vehicles that redefine the in-cabin experience.

Each year, WardsAuto editors evaluate new and significantly redesigned vehicles across a wide range of criteria including:

  • Interior design
  • Material quality
  • Comfort and ergonomics
  • Connectivity and infotainment
  • Driver-focused controls
  • Digital displays
  • Advanced driver assistance
  • Overall user experience
  • Value

The 2026 winners demonstrate a clear industry shift toward intuitive technology, premium materials and interiors designed around the driver rather than the screen.

The 2026 Winners

From luxury EVs to affordable family vehicles, this year's winners showcase a decisive industry pivot toward tactile controls, eco-conscious materials and user experiences that prioritize driver focus over digital complexity.

"Consumers have spoken, and automakers are listening" said Drew Winter, Wards 10 Best Interiors & UX judge. "After more than a decade of ever-larger touchscreens and buried menus, the majority of our 2026 test vehicles put the controls drivers reach for most often – volume, climate, seat heaters – right back under their fingertips. The result is an interior that feels modern but doesn't force you to take your eyes off the road."

This year's winning lineup spans segments and price points, united by a shared commitment to driver-centric design, sustainable cabin materials and technology that enhances rather than overwhelms the driving experience.
