Joe Capuano serves as regional president for Bosch Engineering North America and head of technology for Bosch Mobility Americas. Capuano brings 37 years of global automotive electronics design and manufacturing experience with major OEMs and suppliers in propulsion, electronics, software, systems engineering and sensor technologies.
Since 2021, Capuano has led the Bosch Engineering North American division, which is the engineering services division of Bosch Mobility. In this role, he is responsible for the application and adaptation of all of the Bosch Mobility portfolio to start-up mobility companies and performance vehicles including Bosch Motorsport, and niche applications.
In 2025, Capuano was named head of technology for Bosch Mobility Americas. In this role he oversees a broad view of technology and engineering across the Bosch Mobility portfolio in the Americas.
Since joining Bosch in 1995 as an engineering manager responsible for development of passive safety electronics and sensors, Capuano has taken on increasing responsibility in the areas of engineering, sales and program management. Prior to his current role, Capuano spent 10 years as the regional business unit leader for the powertrain electronics controls business. He also spent five years working in Germany supporting global customer projects. Before joining Bosch, Capuano spent time at EDS as a senior engineer.
Capuano graduated with bachelor’s degree in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Notre Dame.
