Muhammad Zain Khawaja is a Senior Tech Lead at the Autoware Foundation, where he is spearheading the Privately Owned Vehicles workgroup, dedicated to creating production-ready autonomous driving technologies for the automotive industry. Zain is also the lead architect of AutoSeg, Autoware's in-house, open-source vision foundation model.

Zain began his career as an early software engineer at autonomous driving start-up Oxa, reporting directly to the company’s Founding CEO. Zain was also the founder and CEO of the autonomous driving start-up Propelmee, which holds the record for the longest autonomous journey conducted on public roads in the UK.
